I had MVD surgery 8 years ago and instead of 2 1/2 in incision and 1 piece of Teflon inside they had to double my incision to 5 in and put 2 pieces of Teflon inside and it still was unsuccessful!! I’m having a lot of trouble with my scar. I can’t put any pressure on it at all. I can’t even lay my head on a pillow at nite I’m stuck on one side of my head all nite. I’m just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if anyone has any tips for me. Also the cold air just goes right threw my scar and I get almost like brain freeze.
I suggest you wear a hat, day and night if you can handle it, particularly when you go outside, and apply vitamin E oil, the most international units the better, all drugstores carry it. I hope this will help. Take care and Happy & Healthier New Year Brittany.
Have you gone back to your surgeon? Having so much trouble with your scar does not sound right. I am very sensitive to any foreign material, and two years after my MVD I did have a reaction to the dissolvable suture material and bone cement that my doctor used to fill the opening left in my skull after the surgery. He had to reopen the incision, debrided it, and remove the patch, which resolved all the issues.
Best of luck
