Hello Mods!
Firstly, it seems that everyone is doing an outstanding job. I've watched this site go from membership of a bit over 300, to helping thousands world-wide.
I still do what I can, when I can, but I am no longer a stay-at-home Mom, as I was when I began this group. When I am not working, I am looking for work, or networking in hopes of finding work, presently, as well as enjoying the final year of my eldest daughter living at home.
Living with TN has given so much to me, and I will be able to return to full time active Moderation, instead of helping out the best I can, when I can, when things calm down a bit, hopefully.
While catching up with my emails today, I noted that several were from members asking to be approved to join the Opiate Therapy group.
My standard for this has been, that if I see that the proposed member list opioid based types of meds in their therapy regimine, past or present, and seem on the up and up, I approve them for membership. If there is any question, I shoot them an email to explain why the group is by acceptance only, due to the use of opioid based medications becoming ever-increasingly controversial for non-terminal chronic pain, and that the feature is in place for their protection, as well, should they become a member. If I get a solid, sensible response, I approve.
Example - as of now, I have a pending member, however, I do not see that she has listed having experience with having used any opioid medication for pain control on her Home Page. Sometimes, this is a private matter that one does not want to broadcast on their page due to the unfortunate stigma.
I do not want to make any members feel unwelcome, so I am kindly asking if anyone would be willing to help me monitor the pending requests coming in, as such.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. I look forward to getting to know you great, new Mods, and again, hats off and great job, all! :-)
Thank you in advance for your replies.
Stef
P.S. Standard apology for any type-o's. I try to catch them, but I type faster than I talk. They happen!
