I noticed some posters have mentioned it and many say it helps with their problem, there was even a lady here who hasn't posted in over a year who learned the techniques and doesn't take any medicine any longer and some others who also do it but unfortunately most of them haven't participated on this forum for over a year so no way of asking them.
I did find one poster who wrote a blog about myofascial release and how it's helping her (Tineline) I believe, I'd love to hear from her and also from some of other ATN fellas who have tried it.
You can look up Tineline in our Member listing, and send her a friend request from her profile page. If she's still at the same email address, she should respond.

I just had myofascial release on my sternocleidomastoid, masseter, pterygoid and temporal muscles and while they did not take away the paresthesia. They did reduce it, especially on my lips!!!
It became barely noticeable in just one treatment! (except for my front teeth who are kinda sensitive)
The masseur told me that you need a specific type of massage for this, medical massage, not any massage will do.
She told me however that people with ATN need to be careful and not come off their medicines, but rather have the massage approach and if it works and takes a lot of their pain away (then chances are a lot of their discomfort was myofascial), then they can perhaps reduce their medicine (of course consulting their doctors first)
I didnt know this, but myofascial tightness caused by things like bruxism or lack of balance in your bodies due to bad posture can create myofascial pain and tension all over your body causing nerves, joints and more to get irritated.
Of course this is not a cure for people with proper TN, but it's a good natural treatment that can reduce pain for many and probably even solve the mystery ATN like pain many people seem to have!!
