After being in hell

I' am feeling better, the big attacks are gone. Just a residual pain in my jaw when I move it. The big problem is that Neurontin takes my cognitive function away and I'm dizzy all day I don't know if it's the Klonapin that makes me dizzy. I wish I could go back to my old friend tegretol.

The pain is back. This is bad and still getting used to a new regimen of medication it worked for less than 10 days. Tomorrow I'll go to work and see how it goes. If I can't drive I'll come back. I will not put my safety at risk.

Caroline, I agree. I used Neurontin for almost 12 months and it made me brain dead or in a brain fog. Then lyrica, same side effects and now I am trying trileptal which I hope has less side effects. I hope you find something that works.

Jim

tryleptal an tegretol are the best, but they stop working for me. Need to reduce the dose.

Thanks James

Tegretol has been the best medicine I have taken. I had to stop it because i developed resistance and the pain broke through. Hope I can get back, Neurontin gets the pain away but also, my brain. I don’t know what Klonapin is doing.

Yesterday, my Dr put me now on 800Mg on neurtontin 6 times a day, plus Baclofen, Klonapin, Vimpat and Ultram (tramadol).

I cannot walk straight. I am constantly dizzy, still have pain. This all got worse after having Gamma Knife. The Neurosurgeon say that it will get better. I am out of work but until Monday it will be paid, after that it will be non pay sick leave.

I am worried.

Caroline, I was denied my paid sick leave and just recently my company reinstated it. I will keep you in prayer daily that you find a solution on pain mgt. and receive paid sick leave benefits. Can you treating MD refer you to a pain mgt specialist who may be more effective than your current MD? I just did this and my neurologist was supportive since I told him he was doing the best he could for me, but I wanted another opinion.

My neurologist is s specialist is Pain Management (I love him, he is so committed). Now, finally, my big pain attacks are gone. Hopefully, since I'm still unable to drive, I will be allowed to work from home until my body adjusts to the medicine. I have Paid sick leave until today, so management and Health services at work are working on that.

The Dr gave me some lidocaine patches for the resedidual pain, hope they work.
