I don't have an official diagnosis yet but pretty sure it's ATN.
I have never had an electrical shock like pain until last night. Just three tiny zaps, third one the strongest on my upper cheek bone area.
Could this mean I may also end up with type 1 TN?
TN1 is big/little zap zap - usually over quickly within seconds to minutes
ATN is burning boring non stop
longer intervals
It could be, I have ATN and TN, I started with ATN then started getting the electric shocks later...there is no pain like it at all.
When do you think you will have a diagnosis? If you are getting the lightning strikes and arent on meds yet for it, you need to start asap to keep it under control.
I hope its not TN, but you do need a definitive diagnosis to get it all under control

Yes, I have the burning, boring non stop and then last night I had the zaps too.
Hopefully I'll have a diagnosis within the month. I am on Nortriptyline, just upped to 40mg.
