Hi all,
Just wondering what everyone else’s pain is like?
Thanks
Hope ur all having a better day
Natalie,
Before MVD surgery, very sharp, stabbing, shooting, electric like pain with spasms/quivering that lasted seconds but would come one after another so the episode may last 5 minutes. Then I may not have it for another hour or I may have it 10 times in an hour. As it got worse, this was an everyday occurrence. But when it first started, it was unpredictable and it sometimes came every day or every couple of days or multiple times in a day. About six months before surgery, I developed an aching pressure type pain between attacks. And by the time I had surgery it was pretty much constant typical stabbing pain. After surgery, I have more of the aching and pressure with some shooting and stabbing pain. But the pain is so much better now. There isn’t a comparison.

HI Liz,
Thnx for your comments. Its interesting to know what other people are going through and what they have had done. I must admit I have finding it a hard choice to make about the MVD, if it was not so invasive I would have it tomorrow! When did you ahve your surgery Liz?
Thanks

Hello,
I’m going to see a neurologist on Thursday. I’ve been to a million dentists thinking that this was dental pain until someone finally told me to see a neurologist. My pain was the lightening bolts, the stabbing feeling and I also had a burning sensation. Yesterday my ear hurt and today my nose and eye hurt. I’m wondering if anyone else has had pain that travels also (like from your ear to your nose, to your eye). I hope everyone is having a good day today!

HI Ingrid,
Thanks for comments, I wish you luck with the neurologist, I have pain that travels along top gum into 1 side of my nose, i get a burning ear, but I dont have it going into my eye, but many people do.
I hope your having a pain free day.
Take care

Natalie,
I had mine in April last year. The pain is starting to return but it still doesn’t compare to what I had before surgery. I am really considering having it again. I wished I had had it again in July when the surgeon suggested it. Then I wouldn’t have to recover again. I was exhausted for quite awhile after surgery. I didn’t have any pain from the surgery but I’m sure it was because I had a lot of numbness.
