1. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a risidual affect of Neurontin on their vision? It seems as though since being on the Neurontin, not only have I gained unwanted pounds but I've also gained blurred, "spotty" vision and it seems to have gotten worse over time.
2. Does anyone also have the memory loss that I have also experienced with the Neurontin??? Maybe it's just the whole "40" thing. haha
Stacy,
I have both blurry vision and some memory problems. The blurry vision has been an issue for awhile. The memory problems have started in the last nine months.

I’m not on neurontin. However, I’m on trileptal and my memory loss is noticeable. My cognitive processing is sluggish too. It has been a major concern for me. I just turned 37. I thought it was age, but it’s not. The higher my dosage, the worse it is. Also, my vision is affected my my meds as well.
Hi Sabrina, You explained my problem perfectly! I don’t even take nuerontin any more but it feels like I do. I have no clue whats going on, where anything is or what I am talking about most of the time! I miss me, well the smart me, I feel so ditsy most of the time!
I definitely had issues with neurontin, including visual and memory like you. Driving was not easy or really safe for me when I was on it, and my overall functioning became pretty limited; I had to leave school and work. As my doses were increased again and again, I felt I was losing control of my mind.
I can relate, Diana… it’s taken me years since being on neurontin to be able to really speak my mind again.

Wow really Anna? I only took it for like 6 weeks and I have not felt normal since, my concentration is soooo bad along with the other stuff it scares me that I’ll never be my normal self again! I feel dumber than a box of rocks and I can’t even hold a conversation for long. I keep everything short

Diana,
I took neurontin for much longer than you so maybe that is why it took me so long to recover from that med… I was also taking trileptal - for even longer - and I know of several people and doctors that speak of speech and memory issues going along with that. I see Robyn has mentioned such issues with trileptal… I can relate to that as well!

My memory has really started to scare me in the last year since on Neurontin. I am at a loss for words a lot of the time, and I momentarily forget where I am, or where to turn, etc. My eyesight has diminished in the last year also, mostly in the right eye where I get most of my TN pain. I am not sure the cause, but could be my age, alittle over 40. I have moments where my vision is horribly blurry, then all of a sudden, perfect vision again. I have never worn corrective lenses, I have always had good eyesight. Since I cannot tolerate things on my face like sunglasses, I guess contacts will be my only choice when That time comes!
I do suffer from Fibro, so the memory lapses and fog could be from that. Could be worse.
