So, my first discussion question and post. By the way, thanks for all the welcoming messages! I was diagnosed w/ TN back in March...after many misdiagnoses of sinus infection, inner ear, etc. I'm 34 and have been a Type I diabetic since age 7. My diabetes is under great control. However, I've been experiencing extreme pain in my legs for a few years now...not all the time. I can walk a couple miles and be fine or I can walk up a flight of steps and have to sit down because it hurts so bad. I also get extremely tired and can get extremely confused from time to time---the first thing I do is check my blood sugars and they are fine. So it's not a high/low blood reading. This is also when my TN REALLY acts up. It is episodic---could be for a day or two every couple weeks or will not happen for several weeks. When it does, I feel like total crap (to put it politely in case there are young readers). I've done some research on-line (I know, should not trust the internet but the sources are directly from medical schools!) and it appears as if the symptoms may be pointing in the direction of multiple sclerosis. I just met with my diabetic Dr. Friday and she seems to think so as well. My creatine kinase reading was 262--normal is between 24 and 204. I see my neurologist again in a week and a half.
Just curious if others have experienced the same thing(s).
THANKS! Nicholas
