Finally!! I think my smiley face was throwing it off! Sheesh!
Hi Beachwalkmm
Yes, welcome. Tell us your story. Your pup is a cutie for sure.
As much as I love dogs I now stand up for cats.

So sorry for all your losses, Heather. We mix the sorrow with the funny, the crying with the laughing. The goofy with the serious. After all, that’s how life comes to us.
I’ve been slammed the last couple of years as well, both of my fathers within four months of each other. Financial loss. A legal battle. It just goes on and on.
I wonder if loss and TN go together.

We just lost our yellow lab Maggie who was 16 years old. It was just a few months ago and it was especially hard on my mom. Maggie followed her EVERYWHERE. I lost mt do dog Roneo in October 2011 right around the time that my TN really kicked into high gear. It’s been a rough couple of years. We lost my grandmother in Dec 2011, then one of my great aunts around this time last year, and the lady of my great aunts yesterday. There’s been a lot of loss along with my tn. Wow, I just went all Debbie Downer on a happy thread!
I currently have a dog on each leg and a heating pad in my pillow. I literally have the warm and fuzzies.
I love cats too and advocate for their adoption as well. I grew up with many cats as well as dogs and horses some cats just aren’t that cuddly though and I’m not willing to have anything poop in a box in my house lol
Your cat is beautiful though!!! I just want to bury my face in all that fur! Lol
ack, i know what you mean. My cat has an acreage for pooping.

I certainly don’t think loss helps the TN situation. I just imagine when we get stressed or upset that vessel filling more and more with bliss and squeezing harder and harder on the nerve. It may be completely incorrect imagery but that’s what I get.
Oh she’s such a suck. Going on 15 and loves that wood stove.

I think whatever images we get are valid. And all clues to what’s going on in our craniums.
It’s more than just the squeeze though, there is cellular debris all around the damaged nerve and the glial cells can’t sweep it away. It’s late and I can’t remember the medical details right now but will look kit up tomorrow.
Hi sweetie saw your pic of your dog. OMG soooo cute. Its so true about dogs. Many years ago after my 6 th back surgery my husband surprised me with my pooch Rocco hes a rat terrier, I cNnot tell you what he has done for me. I had a post op visit with my neurosurgeon, he said Joanne how are you doing? I told him incredible , what had changed for me was the unconditional love of my pooch Rocco. There have been studies on this , people even live longer because of having an animal in their life. He tries to lick my tears all the time when I am crying when the pain becomes intolerable. How sweet he is to me. So keep him close and no matter how horrifc our day is you can count on your pooch to make you feel abit better
My Best
Shindig, your girls are so beautiful, dogs are amazing animals so much unconditional love. Hope they are making you feel better!
Thank you!
I can already tell what a great support group this is, and others that really care and get what it is like.
I recall in the beginning of by TN struggles how alone I felt, especially so much unknown. Now it is still a
stuggle coping each day at a time. It is nice to have others to bounce off of for friendship and support that are
in this together.
I try to stay positive and do as much as I can when I can. Most of the time I am in a lot of pain and my friends a
and family don't even know it, unless it is a crash and bury my head day.
I look forward to hearing more about others stories, treatments,, and coping skills.
Thanks for nice welcome.

at all! I haven't been here all that long myself, but I have found the support group so very helpful. My family is thankful that I have an outlet and have a lot more patience with them now lol. I hope you find us helpful and feel open to sharing your journey with us as well
Mary Ann,
Been meaning to welcome you, I recently found this group as well and feel less alone. Everyone is so supportive and helpful! Glad you feel the same. Love you Beagle, reminds me a little of our Puggle.

Love seeing all the pets! Hubby is allergic to cats and dogs, though I've fed a stray outside cat the last three years who showed up here as a kitten but we do have a chinchild! I mean, a chinchilla...she's been a member of our family for the last ten years.
Omg how cute! Love the sweater! My biggest dog Radar loves a sweater! He looks like a big meanie but he loves to be dressed up lol
How cool is that chinchilla! What is her personality like? I’ve never really been around chinchillas much. Does it go potty in a box like a cat? I’m intrigued!
Thanks, HCal! She is pretty spoiled but is generally good-natured and likes to be held and petted. She really is my husband's pet therapy, she will bite at her cage to get out when we walk through the door and she will lie on his chest for a couple of hours while he is watching tv.
Scratch (her name) likes potato chips (name brand only, lol), animal cookies and smartie candies which we offer only in small portions. She likes grapes. The cutest thing is she holds her treats with her two small front paws sitting up like a prairie dog. We have to keep her in her own cage because she would chew anything wood in a New York minute! We have a large ball that she can roll around the house in and she usually spends a little time snuggling in bed with us before hubby puts her up for the night.
They need occasional dust baths so we have a special box with lava dust that conditions her skin. She goes crazy when we get it out and rolls around gloriously like she's in catnip! It's fun to watch!
I don't know how well she could be housebroken. She is not as discreet about her droppings which are like rodent droppings as she is in that family (but so stinkin' cute!) but when she gets antsy we take that as a sign she needs to pee. It was harder to manage that when she was younger but as soon as we saw a tail lift we quickly got her to her cage!
I'm glad to hear that you have your daily "medicine" through caring for animals. I actually had the opposite effect. My pain was so bad that my dog was getting neglected, I felt, and had to hire a dog walker sitter. She comes 3x a week and takes him on a 25 minute walk, baths him (he's got some allergies and started "licking" his paws practically raw about 1.5 years ago), wipes his feet with this medicine, takes him to the vet . I feel much better knowing he's taken care of right now because i cannot walk him because the wind and such bothers my face pain. He does sleep with me in his bed in my room at night and I still feed him, etc. But I just got the bad news that my dog walker/sitter is moving to Denver! I was heart broken and so will my pup. His name is Riley, too. He's a papillon. So, if anyone in Denver could use a good Pet Sitter/Walker, she's reliable, has good rates, etc. Plus, she will run errands for you, too! Thanks!
