Testing Text Messaging Capabilities

Since Sarah is going in for treatment soon I thought it would be a good idea to try to add text messaging capabilities to the LTN community. My thinking is that someone needs support or wants to say hi to the group but can’t be in front of a computer, you should still be able to reach LTN.

I’m experimenting with the Red “badge” to the right titled Text Messaging Capabilites. I’m not very technical so it may not be appearing on the main page and may only be on my personal page. It also might not work at all! :slight_smile:

To try this out, you send a text message to 41411 and write LivingTN and then your mesage. A sample looks like this:

Text to: 41411

Type: LivingTN Hi everyone on the LTN Community. Just wanted to say hi and tell you it’s a beautiful night in San Francisco!

That should subscribe you the text messaging extension of the LTN Community. Let’s give it a shot. I’d love to work out the bugs quickly so we can support each other if someone has to go to the doctor or see a pain specialist.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. I can’t think of anything worse that lying in a hospital bed and not being able to be in contact with those who have been so supportive to you in the months before.

I’m not very technical either! My 12 year old normally helps me out when I get stuck on the computer which is nearly ever day. I am going to try to add some photos over the weekend which will probably take all weekend knowing me!

I’ve just tried to send a text but I kept getting the " error sending message " popping up on the screen. Perhaps it doesn’t work because I live in Great Britain, or perhaps its just me doing it wrong!

Thanks for trying Joanne. I’ll try to fix it tomorrow. It seems to work for me but maybe not for other people?

Did you try subscribing in the little box on the bottom of the widget?
