Hi all, been feeling really good on teg. all of a sudden
yesterday i started feeling light headed and dizzy. the best way to
describe it is that my brain keeps bouncing in my head long after my
body stops moving. must keep very still. very nausea inducing…just
wondering if it’s my med. Will call dr in am but not sure about my
night dose. UGH thanks. hope you are having a great valentines day
ok, my brother who has seizure disorder and has taken many epilepsy meds unsuccessfully, he calls this BOBBLE HEAD and it is exactly what it seems like, although it’s just my brain that feels like it’s moving, NOT my whole head.
It appears that it may be something similar to Labyrinthitis but more induced by the tegretol NOT an inner ear infection or inflammation.
Have any of you ever had BOBBLE HEAD??? my husband sure thinks this is the perfect explanation for me.
Hi Kristi,
Yes, some of the meds give me issues like that - I used to get that as a side effect on Teg when the Neuro had me increase it a couple of years ago - I hated it, but stayed on that dosage at that time like that with some just horrid side effects for around 8 months. I had daft doctors who did not think it was the meds doing it cause i’d been on Teg for 5 years at that time. But I believe it was the increased dosage the neuro put me on - that finally had caused those side effects.
Bobble heads great, love it! that dizziness, nausea, I also got vertigo, nystagmus, major balance issues etc., and cause my neuro did not think it was the meds, it made him send me for another MRI, had to have hearing and balance testing done and a whole lot more other tests… It used to be just the worst thing through summer and I’d collapse with those episodes too.
So yes, please call your doctor to see what he / she says. Let me know what they say?
Best wishes ~ Kerry xx
Called my doctor, waiting to hear back. Will update you when I hear!
