I FINALLY had my Permanent Stimulator Implant Surgery on Monday. I have been working towards this for almost a year. My ATN / Type2 that has been running 8-9 out of 10 for 24/7 is now only half of that pain. The only lead that is “on” is the one they checked in the O.R. during surgery and it is not on all the way or fully programmed. I had a very successful trial several months ago but have been battling with the insurance company ever since. I know ALL the pain will not go away but at least I will have some relief.
I'm so glad!
keep us in the loop
how it unfolds!!! Maybe hope for others

That is great news! I have had mine since August 2013 and it works very well! You will probably notice a difference in how well it works as you heal from the surgery. I had some reprogramming done a few month after my procedure to fine tune the programs, and it really made a difference in pain control.
Best of luck to you!
Where is your pain located? Where did they implant your device? I have ATN too. My pain is over my eyebrows and nose. My doctor said this may not be an option for me since it is difficult to anchor the device.
My pain is in all three branches, so my scalp, forehead, eye, cheek, nose and teeth. I have the battery in my chest, just below my collarbone, and I have two leads. One runs up behind and above my ear, and the other is in front of my ear all the way up to my temple, and branches off into my cheek. With some additional programming about two months after the implant I am able to get really great relief. I run my stim 24/7, and only adjust it every now and then.
Best of luck to you!

Hi, I have mine from my upper cheek just below the outer corner of my eye down through my cheek and in my upper teeth 24/7 and lower teeth part of the time. When they took out the Trial Stim 6 months ago I grabbed a quick glance at the things they attach to the nerve and I was amazed at how strong they looked and how well they looked like they would attach. This was the trial set-up but they sure looked like those babies would hold on if put in/ attached correctly. Take care.
Hi TL
I haven’t been around on the site much for months but am so thrilled to read that you have the implant and that it is making such a big difference not only in your pain levels but in your working life as well. Thanks for sharing. It is good news for everyone when one of us gets better-
My very best thoughts for continuing relief
