Sometimes I can't help but be amused

Really, I do know how miserable TN can make life. I realize that after six years or so I am very lucky to still be able to function on a decent level. The past year or so it mostly strikes at night, so my days are pretty good. But I sometimes can't help but be amused-because this darn thing is different almost every night.

Here's the latest manifestation. If I touch myself under the eye, I have TN2 pain in my lip or under my nose.. So weird. Any idea of why this is happening?

My triggers are similar in that the area I touch isn't necessarily the area that then feels pain, the corner of my eye by my nose and under my nose but above my lip are my main triggers but the pain is almost always along my cheekbone, around my ear and temple.

There are days when it makes me laugh, the pain is so random, where it's, what it feels like, how it moves. Always different and changing from minute to minute. It often makes me chuckle as it seems like it flares up just to try and disturb what ever it is I'm doing, it's like a naughty kid playing up so it gets attention. It almost makes me manic sometimes especially after a bad few days when I'm hungry and tired, I will be chuckling away while the milder flashes of pain hop around my face.

It's good to smile and laugh, when it doesn't make you want to cry that is!

I’m not so sure amused is anywhere close to the word I would use (lol) but I hear you!!! Then go to a dr. that asks you (sorry!) stupid questions and has not a clue to what you are trying so hard to make them understand, I have great drs. now but it has taken forever the second time around.I feel like I was given a life sentence, now I have now embarked on the second one and if,NO!!! This time around things are finally getting better.I’m waiting on the weather from, rain, then we get muggy and twenty degrees colder thenext day so, I am trying to just be patient,as you know that’s not always easy with CRAZY DISEASE Wishing you the best dawn

Oh yes, you've nailed it.

Nope No ideer.....but I've experienced similar anomalies......LOL many times....in different ways..... LOL

Like, one example, when I chew for a longer period of time...I will get this tingling sensation in one area just to the left of my mouth a quarter of the way down towards my chin....makes me want to rub it... AAAGGH....So I don't chew gum....it's annoying!!

But there are others.....one similar to yours Maureen. When I touch under my eye...but I can't remember exactly where the pain showed up... Somewhere below my nose.

Exactly! The fact that the pain moves around on a daily basis and isn't necessarily close to where you touch sure doesn't help people to believe you! I don't even talk about it to my husband anymore. While he is very supportive I am pretty sure he cannot begin to understand and I think I am beginning to sound like a loon

Okay, here's a funny that doesn't have to do with TN. Last summer I had a benign tumor removed from my parodid gland.

The scar just didn't seem to be healing completely because sometimes it seems a bit wet. Then it occasionally dripped. So when I went back to the surgeon for a check up I mentioned it to him. He took a look then then said, "I have never had this happen before, you are dripping saliva." Really, like with the constant dry mouth from all the TN meds, I afford to lose saliva? I'm having it fixed today. So long spitting neck.

Obviously the pain is a pain. hahah, but the randomness is just crazy. Designed, I think to make us crazy.

Maureen, you sure have that right. Last summer (as she calls us) my friendemeny) my friend (we grew up together and now she hsa been living with me over a year now.I am so blessed!) Well,as I was saying she went to throw a bag of onoins away at the same time I leaned forward to throw something else away and yep, she caught me in my tn eye and yep the worse side! The whole house went silent, my 16 year old grandson and a couple of his friends were there, everyone knew this was gonna be bad all the way around. ( accident or not) I have NO clue,(its nerves) I ran to the sink and put cool water on it,that HURT tn or not then, I waited, yep quietly crying, I was scared, and after the pain subsided and I STARTED LAUGHING,BECAUSE NOTHING!!!EXPLAIN THAT TO A DR.THAT DOESN’T UNDERSTANT TN!! Oh, the whole house was laughing, making teen smart coments, and my friend and I were laughing, if someone from the outside looking in would of thought we we all all as crazy as tn.All ya all know that if we didn,t find some of the things we do funny we would go GOOFY AS ALL GET OUT!! Don, ya think. Good afternoon everyone, I sure hope everyone has a painless one, that wold be so nice! Dawn
