Something doesn't make sense

I am experiencing the same blurred vision and slurred speech as I did two days after my MVD surgery but last night around 11:30 pm my legs started to spazz uncontrollably! My whole body was shaking like my muscles were having spazz attacks! My mom is a nurse and she said it was not a seizer! But how I moved was like one. So I got rushed my ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Alabama where I live and they did testing because earlier that day I went to the ER for my vision and speech-- MRI and CT scan showed nothing! All negative! They are now blaming everything-- the legs and body movement, vision, and speech on stress which is odd because I have none! School is starting back and I’m actually pretty excited about it! But they said they were going to get an MRI of my lower back but later on they felt like there was no need in it. Has anybody experienced this odd behavior?? I don’t know if it’s because of the MVD or totally separate! But it’s all so odd because my left leg is so much more “active” than my right which my left is also where my surgery was preformed because I have left TN! Any help??

Hi Kelly,
Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough go of it.
What you describe of your legs sounds like a neurological symptom, who knows what from.
Do you feel tightness in your legs or just spasms?
Your body has been though a lot and in turn can do funny things . You might not feel stressed but your body might be stressed and reacting this way.
I’m not a doctor, have you all called your neurosurgeon to update him on what you’re experiencing?
See how it goes, if it continues or worsens, talk to your Mom about seeing a neurologist.
Huge (( hugs )) Mimi

They took another MRI and said there was nothnig there. But what’s so strange is that it’s my left arm and never my right! I had surgery on my left side and my left leg is the most active on a spazzing out! They said there is nothing neurologically wrong! Soo I’m at a dead end. Johns Hopkins wanted a copy of my MRI to view it themselves. So we are sending it up there an may have to make another visit. But I have a neurologist appointment the 26th of this month I think. But I haven’t seen him in six months so we will have to fill him in on everything.

Kelly, I am grasping at straws here, but do you have fibromyalgia? Fibro can cause muscle spasms and MVD surgery might cause it to flare. The only other thought is having them check your potassium levels as low potassium can do that as well. Best of luck!

Pam

I’ll have to tell my mom to look into that!! Thank you!!!

Also I need to add that I can run without spazzing muscle deal but when I walk I just start having siezer like shakes and also I can sing with stuttering but when I talk I stutter!
