I do not know if that is a good thing or not woody! Flu is tough, TN is tough also. Hope you feel better soon.

what I was trying to say is anytime I have a cold or flu I never get tn troubles at all and I was wandering if that’s the case for anyone . maybe I’m over studying myself lol

Woody, I have theorized that my pain is less when I am sick. I'm not sure why that would be, but I've been sick a few times and I'd have low pain periods. Which is odd, because with a sinus problem, you'd think it would aggravate pain in the upper teeth.

thx crystal I guess I am really Tryin to distinguish whether my problem is tn or myofascial disorder that’s why I’m posting so many discussions I am lost loll
had a oral facial pain specialist tell me I had myofascial disorder about 6 yes ago and may drs tell me tn but just now had it confirmed by a neuroseurgeon who says the nerve is being compressed by an artery ughh so confused!!! lol

It's quite possible that you have both TN and myofascial pain. If your surgeon sees a compression on your MRI, then you can be sure you have TN. Is he suggesting you get an MVD?

yes he did but I’m trying tegretol first I’m at 200 twice a day I be notice I have felt better with still some irritations here and there. I’ve been trying to figure this crap out for yrs I even had a brain surrgery I probably didn’t need

Do you get the electric shock type pain? If so, that combined with a visual compression is good reason to get an MVD. If you have a compression but don't have the shocks, I don't know if I would do it. That's a tough one.
