went today and got my pretest done for my surgery on monday May 3. I was already scared but that for some reason really made it real. The fear has turned into full blown terror 
God I hope this surgery works

I will be thinking and praying for you on Monday. I know it is scary. I was scared until the last two weeks and then I found peace. I was not scared at all when I went into the operating room. I believe if I had it again, I would be more scared. And I can’t tell you why.
Please have someone post as to how you are doing.

Thanks Liz. I will try to have someone do it. I am trying to picture myself playing on my laptop the first day in my hospital room. whats the chance. lol
Did anyone have to have a lumbar tap done while in surgery. he did advise me its a possibility and i have had a spinal tap done before. just want to make sure i am completely out and no clue whats going on. I was always under the impression you had to be awake when it was done.

I had a leak after MVD surgery.I was confined to bed with blood thinners and tights on my legs to prevent clotting.Thank god the leak sealed by itself over 2 days.I would only notice the leak if my head was in a downward possition.Hope all goes well for you…Godbless
Hi Vickie! I am praying this will be your answer! For me, the MVD (so far) has helped the TN pain. Yay! Like Liz, I was at peace when I had mine on March 15th… I pray for peace for you… Breathe, try to relax, and give yourself plenty of time to heal post-op!

I had an appt with a neurosurgeon last Thurs and he said I should and could do surgery the next day! So I am glad I didn’t have to wait to get the MVD surgery done! So far no pains like I was having before. Have a slight headache, taking Percoset. I have been resting alot, very happy I had it done. I will pray for you! Good luck.
thanks so much for your comments and replies. so nice to finally find a forum of people that understand. Debi you are lucky you had it done the next day. no time to freak out. I have finally chilled out now and relaxed and that is because of all of your stories and the prayers coming my way. they do make a difference expecially for us newbies. just getting details in line for my family. just to be safe. i am excited to have it done. the pain is my reminder just why i need it. thanks for all your prayers and i will let everyone know how it goes as soon as i can. how long was it before you were able to return to work. i have a desk job but i am in quality assurance and wear headsets all day long. they already bother me with just my glasses. little worried about that.
