Petition about opioid prescribing

I just started a petition on the White House petitions site, We the People. Will you sign it?

Signed and Delivered!
This new trend of denying Chronic Pain Patients their meds because of “Street Druggies” that we have nothing to do with whatsoever, has got to stop. We don’t want to be in pain. We didn’t ask for this life. It’s not a “choice” we made. Drug addicts who aren’t in pain and abusing medicine meant for people in pain is a choice! We are not them. This is our lot in life and it is unfair to even put us in the same category as “Street” type of addicts.

Signed. I am an opioid user, not abuser, for cervical spinal pain. I elect to use the meds instead of having another debilitating surgery that will interrupt my life and that of everyone around me -- my child and my jobs, where there isn't anyone to take my place. I am a responsible adult and do not sell or give away my meds. Period.

Amen to that, CindyLou! Well said! I agree with you 100%. It doesn’t just affect the patient, but their families as well.
