Ok, MRI done, but now sinus pain? confused

No tn pain for two days. This morning woke up at two a.m. with temple pain and pain in BOTH cheek bones. Could not breath our of left nostril.

I have never thought this could be sinus, as my sinuses were totally clear, and no pain on the other side. Even now, it does not feel like any sinus infection I have EVER had in my 54 years.

I do remember an odd bad bad nose bleed about six weeks ago that I forgot about. I wonder if this could have anything to do with it. I guess the MRI will tell. They did with and without contrast.

Being a past cancer patient(thyroid), I am worried about something growing in there. It does not often go to other places in your body, but I talk to many people on my TC form that do have mets.

Regardless, I feel all kinds of weird things going on in my face, and am starting to feel a little ill.

I was taking a sinus spray when my first doc thought it was sinus, but it made my whole sinus go "electric zap" and when the second doc told me TN, I stopped using it, as it seemed to make it worse. Any comments would be helpful. I don't know if I should ask the doc for antibiotics to prevent being really sick by Monday or not. ????

I used to have both sinus pain and TN pain all at once, I have horrible sinus's . You may have both going on too. I had an MVD and the TN is gone, but before surgery the nose sprays would make my TN worse, it depends on whats in them.

I was told originally that my pain was a sinus infection..NOT< until I finally had someone diagnose TN. You know the difference if you have had sinus pain before, the TN pain makes it look like a walk in the park.

If you are worried that you are getting worse, I would check with the doctor. Having a sinus infection with TN has to be awful

I had to stop and reply to this...they also thought I had sinus problems I had severe pain in both my temples and my cheekbones and one side of my nostril always feels like I can't breathe out of it sometimes....I was put on several antibiotics and had a mri showing no sinus infection I have trigeminal neuralgia type 2 :( Unfortunately I still feel a lot of these feelings on a day to day basis I am on nortriptyline 75 mg a day which help some but unfortunately my life will never be the same

I have TN pain along with Pain on the other side, more like Migraine.

Low grade now, but a pain every few minuets. Drives me nuts. The deep brain pain bothers me the most.

Feel like a cracked water melon behind my eyes. I feel like my trigm. nerves are stressed for some reason. Wish I knew why. MRI showed migraine patterns, but I know its TN as well.

I can only hope symptoms will continue to improve.

I got a nose bleed after I had an endodontist redo a root canal on an upper tooth. My ENT then thought maybe it could have put a hole in the floor of my sinus.... Still don't know if that is true or not. But turned out I had severe infection in there and had to be cleaned out with surgery. But I still think it bled because of what the endo did and so does my ENT. Not much help to ya but I vent about this whenver I get the chance!!!!! LOL I always have cheekbone pain tho and have and I don't have any infection anymore. So it's very hard to tell if I would have an infection, if I did.

OMG
sounds awfulll...I hope so too Redbird.. :(

I take Effexor for my burning type 2 pain. It works prettty good. I haven't tried nortriptyline. I wanted to, but when my GP put me on effexor for depression it started working on the pain too. So I got lucky. I hope you feel better sooon. Maybe they can add something to your nortryptyline to help. ???
