i'm on high doeses of Cymbalta. .but now it's constant pain like.. can't describe it.. it's not even pain...
it's like the GUMS (not teeth) on very specific points (under two teeth that i removed them) is like...acidic... it can drive me mad.. it can last for days..
and you know thw feeling thar you can't really take a PAINKILLER cause it's not really pain.. it a stinging/ or like a jellow-fish bit my gums...
i feel i'm going insane. don't have anywhere to run from this feeling.. i try to touch my face.. press it. take painkillers... it's just 24/7 burning won't go away.... i did have some hours a day without that feeling... the last days it just won't stop. can't live like that
You poor thing! I had the burning after the electric shocks. I started Tegretol and had immediate relief except for some mild tingling in my face. So were are increasing my dose. Have you tried Tegretol or Oxcarbazapine (spelling?)? Good luck to you.
i was offered Tegretol but it's a bit dangerous to take with the Cymbalta. but my doctor offered low doses to try.
the thing is that i don't have symptoms of Classis TN. in other words, i don't have those electric shocks (only once in a few monthes). it's just the constant stinging/burning.
but if you say the Tegretol helped that.. so maybe it's worth a try.
couldn't sleep last night even with 2 painkillers. and when did slept for a while had nightmares of tooth pain.
Nir, when my pain is bad I have a tingling metallic taste around my pain point, like you it drives me crazy. I am Type I though. Hope you feel better very soon.
Jackie - thanks - it did have a change in taste for a while recently - but i must admit - with the meds we take - one can not understand if it's a side effect of the med.
but the "acidic" taste (as i call it.. it's more like a sore taste) it drives me crazy. and i start thinking maybe it's something for the stomach - somethings i eat. at least 2 neuroligists told ,me some of the jaw problems are realated to the stomach !
but if so - why isn't ALL my mouth is acidic , only the problematic area ?
thanks Jackie for the response.
i'm thinking about the MVD option i was offered. but i'm afraid it's not for me cause it's probobaly local pain , after a dental work.
I have tn 1 and 2 and i have that burning sensation on my gums and lower mouth. It feels like someone has slightly scrapped it and put lemon juice on it but there is nothing there of course. My lower left teeth hurt constantly...i just want to pull them out.
My neuro just added tegretol to my 2400mg of Neurontin. I am just hoping it works and I can go back to work with all these meds in my head.
I hope they find a solution to your pain soon! Hugs
