Neurectomy,

I am getting closer to 7 years with localized trigeminal neuropathic pain, Oh boy this pain, not for the heart weakest, and i am as all of as looking for exists....

So I realy need your input about neurectomy, the good, the bad & the ugly.

I just havent explored that possibility enough.

And since i have neuropathic pain, Should they cut neuromas too, before/with the nerve???

Need you friends, it will be nice to get informed on that procedure, since doctors havent mentioned it to me, but from the other hand, they havent ever talked to me about something that i didnt did my own research and mentioned it first, quite a shame

Thanks god for you

Ravit, the best advice I can give you is to ask RED LAWHERN. He has so much more knowledge than I can dream of. There are some very serious side effects to bear in mind. It can make your pain even worse which hardly bears thinking about.
However I must tell you that the BF of my MIL had it done in the 60’s. There were few options available then and it was seen as a last resort for someone in severe pain. She has no regrets as she did not have the severe damage that can occur. But here is something you need to know. As the years have passed she know looks as if she has had a severe stroke. Her face droops very badly. I can see from your photo that you are a good looking woman and it could have a serious psychological repercussions to loose your looks.
I understand why you and indeed any of us would consider this, but consider all the side effects please. I wish you wellness.

Well it was 50 years ago. She needed to raise her children in a time when financial social benefits were thin on the ground. I understand her decision but, as you say the poor woman.

Are you not a candidate for MVD surgery????

Ya, just what I was dreadful to hear, and yes what I guess I know. About the pain he is so awful so it makes you consider it, but as Jackie said and thank you for the compliment, for any person it's devastating to be some what deformed, and I guess in the stage I am in life to have a drops face in such a young age, Wow it's unbearable like having the pain is unbearable.

Kc Dancer Kc, to your question, another thing i am battling with is MVD, though I am quite positive it's not to help me, because my pain is located mostly to one tooth, that had a filling - the onset of that pain, I even can say i didn't have pain before the filling - it was preservation treatment, and the pain is 24/7 burning. So a lot of red flags that it is neuropatic (TNP). But yes I have artery on the nerve. by the way, I read and met with a lot of people with neuropathic pain TNP and TN 2 that both had blood vessels too, and after surgery - MVD (who can blame them for trying) reassured it is neuropathic or TN2 that it just didnt work for them. For me it was realy bizarre to see a considerable amount of people that for sure had neuropathy TNP and also had a vessael on the nerve, and of course I am aware of other people that thought it is dental then neuropathic and it was TN, for all I know i can be one of them, but I doubt it

All I can say about this illness realy expect the unexpected...

Thank ya girls caring enough for answring me
