((( hugs ))) so nice to hear from you! I’m glad you are doing ok, sorry your still vomiting and having headaches, hope that clears soon…thinking of you, wow amazing that they weren’t able to see the compresion and bulging artery until they went in . I guess it’s a leap of faith, one I’m leaning closer towards everyday. Take care of you, mimi
They gave me anti nausea medication , same as cancer patients. First one didn’t work but another one did. I am having my 2nd next Thurs 11/15 & still remember how bad it was. Hope my 2nd time is the last & is successful!
I will post after. Weird knowing what to expect!
How long did they say your recovery will be? 1st time for me was @2weeks then was back to work partime for a week.
I’ hope your vomiting is under control. Your postings have given me hope I chose the right procedure even though my doc suggested he’d do a gamma knife first. My neurologist has indicated I have symptoms from more than one nerve and the neurosurgeon suggested I may have typical and atypical. I pray one surgery and only one is all I need. Please keep us updated, by the way I will send you one of my good luck kisses from the Crystal Caves in Bermuda - sounds like you could use it!
Linda, I probably could find this somewhere on the website but why did you need two?
So I’m still in hospital. Surgery was on Monday, left ICU Thurs afternoon to a regular room and today (Sun) I am still in that room. TN pain?? What is that? Mine is GONE! I want to do a little jig i’m so happy. But it seems that i have a CSF leak. So I’ve been stuck on flat bedrest. If i move at all, I vomit. I also got a UTI from the catheter they left in me for 4 days. So, some complications and i don’t know how much longer I’ll be here, but honestly, I would do it all over again. It’s not easy, but I feel like I will actually have a life when I get out of here. Couldn’t say that before.
Sooooo AWESOME to hear no TN pain!!! Can’t tell you how happy I am for you!
Hope the uti and csf leak get better soon, no fun!
Save the jig for later my friend! ; )
( hugs) Mimi
So glad that you're out of ICU! I'm sorry for the set backs, but that is only temporary!

So glad to hear another successful MVD!! The leak and uti will heal shortly and you'll be back to living life before TN!!
Congrats!!
Mary
Yes, My Friend, you will have a life when you get out of the hospital. And right now, that is the best place for you. You will get past these complications and then can really enjoy being pain free. I am very happy for you!

So sorry for the complications, YAY for the NO TN PAIN!! how awsome is that. I feel great 2 months out from my mvd, you will too...and in the end all the complications will be worth it. I went through the fluid in ear, rash all over, and throwing up for 18 hours from anesthesia...I so feel for you, it wasnt fun, but here I am a few months out and feel great...you will be better before you know it.
Welcome to the group of we have a life now!!

YES, Crashgirl, I like being a member of that group!
I drove 6 hours altogether yesterday as a trial run to get back to work and behind the wheel. I went shopping in downstate Delaware, or as we call it Slower Lower, checked out the Christmas displays that are up at some of our garden centers and felt great all day!! Amazing how well we are all doing only weeks after brain surgery!!

I have a question for those that have had a CSF leak. My main symptom is vomiting if i sit up for too long. I’ll be fine laying down. But up means things are coming out. I did have a headache that accompanied it while in the hospital, but that has improved. What have u felt? Besides time and/or a blood patch (mine is due to the lumbar drain i had), what else can help seal things up? Thanks!
I didn't have any physical symptoms with my CSF leak but Dr put me on 2000mg of antibiotics for 2 weeks and everything sealed up.
Update on the vomiting: ended up in the ER all day yesterday. I got a kidney stone!! What are the chances of that?!?! I don’t know if I still have the CSF leak (I think not), but it seems that at some point i went from vomiting due to the leak to vomiting due to a stinkin’ kidney stone. I’m just shocked. LoL
You poor thing, I have had Kidney stones and they aint fun. Crazy that it would happen now...I hope you are doing better today. I had some weird side effects and complications after my surgery as well, just hold on and keep up the good thoughts, I know its hard, but after 6 weeks I am pain free and feel really good,
