a week late though, my meds stopped working on friday, and i have had a couple hour long episodes! i will talk to the doc in the am and see about the lidicaine patches. Tuesday cant get here soon enough!
i had about 3 solid weeks of no pain...but at what cost? while on meds am i setting the stage for greater attacks, because that is how it seems. it is like im injuring it more but not feeling it till it is too late. ok that is nuts i guess, but seems that way to me ;-]
im on 75 lyrica 5 times a day and 300 gabapentin 3 times a day for meds.
the surgeon is Dr. Ott, i will have the surgery at Palomar Hospital in Escondido, Ca, right by my house and the hospital is about one year old so it will nice to see it on the inside.
is it weird to ask if they can video tape the operation? it would be cool to see what the inside of my head looks like, but i wonder if the doc would set off by it.
Please tell me dr has done many successful MVDs…,!!
TN is progressive no matter what you do…I went into my MVD after only 12 months of tn… And I was in remission on very low dose of med…sanity check. LOL!
The sooner you try it, the better your odds
And those patches might need to be your friend later too… I’m at 5% come and go pain some days…waaay better than before MVD oct. 2010… Did have one year since then with no pain, no patch, no pill. NOw, patch. 3x week at 8:30… That is the weird part!
Let us know how recovery goes…or have somebody log in and journal for you.
You went relatively quick from finding us to MVD I think…that’s why I asked about quality of your surgeon
Hang tough until surgery. There are options to aid in the management until surgery. I had MCV surgery and it was very difficult but it relieved my pain-now I am dealing with post op dizziness and some speech issues that come when I am taxed mentally. You will notice a big decrease in pain and get a bit more clear headed
Mace, I had to laugh out loud! My husband wanted to have a video recording of my surgery too! LoL! : ) I wouldn’t even let him ask! I envisioned years of my husband pulling out that video like a party trick for all our guests, ha ha! ( groan).
Sorry you’re having to deal with increased pain…
If you haven’t already, I suggest reading through the MVD group discussions, lots of personal first person stories of what to expect etc…
Wishing you all the best, sending you positive thoughts, check in when you’re able to let us know how you’re doing!
(( hugs )) Mimi
