Oxcarbazepine and gabapentin… Does it work for anyone ?
I'm on 1000 mg gabapentin and seems to work pretty well, I'm not sure if it's that or the fact that I see an Upper Cervical chiro but either way, it's under control.
I take both. I had stabbing pains like someone was taking a dagger and poking it in my right eye and moving it up my forehead to my head so the neurologist started me on them. I take 1200mg a day of Oxcarbazepine a day and 2700mg a day of Gabapentin a day. I started taking both in February and by The middle of March I was back to work full time. I have not had any bad pains since then knock on wood, just a couple of little ones and I think those were because of the stormy weather we have been having here in Iowa, so yes they have been working for me and I hope they keep working. I hope you have as much luck with them as I have had.

A chiro huh? I never even thought of that… Maybe something I should look into.

Thanks for the insight Sandy. I’ve been playing with both medications for quite some time now. When I have a break out I take 1800 mg of oxcarbazepine and gabapentin. Sometimes it works, sometimes, like this time, it doesn’t work. If I take any more I have terrible side effects. I get so dizzy and feel drunk. This is so difficult.

Thank you so much Dancer. Side effects are a huge problem for me as my doses keep going up.
