I have been having a hard time with my TN but atleast all my dental work is done. I have to say though I’m very depressed, I went to my dr (florida) who’s been treating me because my medication seems to no longer be working and if it is its very minor. I’m on amitriptyline 75mg 2x a day and Narco 4x a day and she told me to ween myself off. I’m moving to NY because I can’t see myself on no medicine at all. I need help, physically and mentally and down here I get the run around. I have been completely isolating myself sitting in my car all day so my family doesn’t have to see me. I can’t take watching the pain in their eyes as I’m sure it’s the same with me, but watching my grandma cry is horrible. Waiting to see a new neuro and go to pain management until I can hopefully have a successful mvd. Life’s so sad I just need some hope because mines gone

Have you looked above to see if there is a support group that meets in person in your area on groups tab?
Not sure if you are moving to NY just because of TN? Because you can't find a good doctor? Are you talking about your general doc or a neurologist?
Have you tried any topical meds to put on your face?

Thank you so much, I’m in so much pain and my only support is my mom and grandma and they just don’t want to understand. I wanna go to NY bc my cousins a top dr in the country and her best friend is a neurosurgeon so there finding me neurologists who can help me because I’ve had very bad luck in florida. 3 days ago the pharmacists wouldn’t fill my meds bc he said someone my age shouldn’t be on them and in FL I found out thy can deny any prescription they want. I also need to get to NY because of Medicade, I can’t work because the pain, and the blurry vision. I have no friends because they don’t wanna deal with my depression I guest… My only friends are on this support group. I just want help so mad I mentally and physically can’t handle it and I’m waiting to see if I’m a candidate for mvd… I pray I am… Suffering everydy is horrible. I literally go outside and sit alone in my car for atleast 8 hrs a day… Thanks for all your support it really helped ur the best <3

denying a person of medication do to their age doesnt sound right to me! i dont know the laws in fla. but if thats the case then why have doctors at all ! i would call the doctor that gave the prescripts and have them CALL the PHARMACIST ! they should be able to take care of that REAL QUICK ! if not try another pharmacy ! not all pharmacists may do the same!
There is also lidocaine mouthwash!!! some here call it magic mouthwash --- maybe it could help till you get closer to finding real help!

because it is such a hotbed for false prescriptions and one of the states with highest addictions to them.
Definately all doctor and ask them where a real pharmacist is!

The counselor in me is confused on why your family doesn't want to understand. Do they think you are drug seeking?
Don't lose hope! You already have the plans to move to NY, so keep those pretty eyes of yours on the PRIZE. Just keep on pushing through until you get there. Try to already have a neuro appointment set up for shortly after you move so you won't have to wait for one. Praying for you and KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE!

I never ever have had a pain free day fully neurontin helped but not wih the burning pains an type 2 but relief when I was on neurontin maybe 80%

I had bad luck in Florida as well. I also would just be in my car all day driving around. Wasting gas and money, it was ridiculous. I wish you good luck in NY .
The social aspect I acknowledge can be difficult. I just cannot keep up. But I'm slowly getting my gears.
