Lyrica

has anyone found lyrica to help with type 2 tn

Hi Ayre,
I take lyrica, due to not tolerating other drugs for TN. It does help my Tn pain, but does not fully take the pain away for me. keep in mind everyone has different reactions to medications and everyones Tn is different. Some may get relief with this drug and others may not, but you’ll never know unless you’ve tired the medication your self. Are your current medications not working, intolerable, or your doctors switching your medications, sorry I’m just curious. Hope this helps answer your question. Do you have any other questions on Lyrica?

Hi,

I take Lyrica and I find it helpful although I don't get a full relief from pain. Along the Lyrica I take antidepressants and I go to acupuncturist and masseur/chiropractic every week. I think it's the combination of all of these which helps - I find the physical treatments as important as the pills because they make me relax also mentally.

Good luck,

Oldriska

Lyrica helped the lightning strike pain for me, but not the type 2 pain. I took celexia (antidepressant) and a narcotic for pain and that helped me a lot.

I took fiorinal with codeine for my migraines and that actually helped, dilaudid did too but made me too loopy. I still take the fiorinal occasionally, i had an Mvd 3 weeks ago and still have the tooth pain, so i take the fiorinal as needed, but mostly motrin now. I just happened on my migraine pills when I had a headache and realized it helped with the type 2 pain. I am allergic to almost every medication out there so the regular narcotics arent for me,

i actually had two compressions on the MRI and that is exactly what my neurosurgeon repaired during the mvd, he said there were no other surprises. I still have some tooth pain off and on now, and my face has these weird episodes as I call them, it just feels strange or like I was punched in the jaw, but I am much better than I was on the meds and dont regret the mvd one bit
