I think I saw somewhere where someone had tried kratom.I think that is how it was spelled.
Anyone on here try it?
I am just looking for options.
So far,the only thing that has given me relief at all are codeine products and my new doctor wants them gone.So ,until things settle down I might need a new option and would like to find out as much as possible before hand.
Just read this AM that the FDA has issued warnings about the use of Kratom. If I were you I wouldn’t go near that stuff!
I will stay away from it.
Not because I am afraid of it-but I am afraid of all the stuff that it may have been used to boost it’s healing power.
I will wait until they legalize heroin so that doctors can right prescriptions.
True
Only in Canada
By the end of this year.
I’ve absolutely no clue about Kratom. In fact I’d never heard of it until reading thi post. I looked it up and it sounds interesting. Thanks for bringing it up! Something you may want to give a look at is medical marijuana. I wasn’t sure about the laws in Canada, so I looked them up. It looks like anyone can apply for a card. Here’s a portion of the law.
“The MMAR was repealed and replaced by the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) which was enacted on April 1, 2014. This program allowed patients to possess dried marijuana flower/bud with a prescription issued by a practicing Canadian physician. A government issued license was no longer required. Licenses for patients to grow their own medicine were no longer being issued under this new regulation.”
Then further information from this article on thegreendoctor.com, States “As of August 24, 2016 the MMPR was replaced with the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR). This new regulation includes legislation that satisfied the Supreme Court decision to allow patients who possess a prescription from a doctor to grow their own medicine. Patients who choose to grow their own medicine can grow it themselves or designate a grower to grow it for them. The maximum limit is 5 outdoor plants or 2 indoor plants but the number of plants is determined by a formula that is based on the prescribed amount from the doctor. Patients must register with Health Canada in order to obtain a license to grow their own medicine. Medicine is available for purchase online by over 30 Health Canada approved, licensed producers (LP). Additional 20+ companies have also been approved for production only and sell wholesale to those licensed to sell. Concentrates are not legal for sale to medical marijuana patients however Cannabis Oil is approved to be sold by authorized LP’s with some of them currently selling edible oil capsules.”
I’m sure you’ve guessed where I’m going with this. Look into medical marijuana. It will not work as well as opioids but it will help. I’ve cut back on my opioid used buy 1/3 or a bit more regarding opioids. I’ve cut out my sleeping pill, cut down on my baclefen and cut down on my anxiety medication. If you’re leary of the Kratom then you’ve nothing to lose by trying Cannabis. I know people who had no problem cutting out their opioids all the way out of their lives just by using Cannabis. I would also strongly suggest you find a strain that is close to 50/50 THC/CBD. if you’re coming scratching your head going “what?” look at it this way. THC is what makes users high. CBD is an anti-inflammatory. Also you may want to stick to just indigo. Indigos make most folks sleepy versus sativa’s which don’t. You have a greater chance of activating other mental health issues using sativas.
Good luck. You’re in my prayers,
Gloria
Hi Gloria
I am already on it.
I have not found a strain that works for the day.I find it hard to vape.
So I use the oil which is big bucks,
The indica oil at night is a Godsend.
It really help me sleep.(most nights)
If I took it during the day I would just be sleeping.
I do have half and half and straight cbd.I actually have what looks like a
dispensary in my bedroom, from all the weed that did not work-but is waiting.
When some companies have a minimum order of 10 grams and it does not work
you end up with over 9 grams.
I am hoping the olive leaf virus protocol will help.
Thanks for your suggestions and prayers
Elaine
so. I have been experimenting with kratom. it’s HARD to find out just what is what and how and what cuz there are lots of strains and so much reddit commentary on them.
what I have found the oddest is that I can’t find anywhere where it says how often to dose. just comments like oh I take 3 grams X times a day etc etc.
I have not tried going on a schedule. I just take a smooth tablespoonful when I feel horrible and it seems to help. but what I suspect that is helpful is actually the sedating properties of bali and red bali strains and I just think, well can’t I just get that in a valium or a xanax and not have to partake of the most disgusting thing I’ve ever injested?
I have been trying just mixing it with plain water. it is hydrophobic? and doesn’t disolve well. I just mentally hold my nose and chug it. I’m used to chewing my gigantic gabapentin tablets so the taste is not completely vomit-causing, but it’s about 5 times as gross. I did try something called japanese oblate films but I would get careless and overwet those and wind up tasting dry powder and it would be even grosser, and downright choke me because it doesn’t dissolve. I’m gonna try some other type of oblates that are more pyramid like so you have less trouble making little oblate packets. just search youtube for oblate discs to see what I mean. other americans have discovered them and use them to give medications to people who have trouble swallowing. I got some on amazon.
however, it was so revolting that I thought I’d give my doctor a chance and ask for tramadol and she shockingly came through today! I thought I’d be put on a drug seeker list but my bff said there’s no such thing lol.
I have to quit the tizanidine I take though cuz of risk of respiratory failure, so I don’t know how kratom without muscle relaxer and with tramadol would affect me.
there are less disgusting alleged ways to take kratom, but I just can’t be keeping orange juice around and taking up valuable refrigerator space.
btw, the kratom I bought on HUGE sale was from sacred kratom, but the reddits seem to love this one named after a happy hippo. I don’t work for either company.
if these pouch type oblates ever effin show up, I will come back and relate the experience. I may not want to if the tramadol works, but that’s like a 3 to 4 week titration. sigh
Thank You
You have made me smile!
So happy
I am glad that you tried and won.
And of course there is no drug seeker list.
Nope
