Help with pregnant daughter with treatment

I need suggestions to help my 27 year old daughter that was just diagnosed with TN. Extreme pain (as you all know) however, she is pregnant and has 10 more weeks to go (July). Can't do an MRI can't do almost all meds except for Vicadin for pain. She trys the warm compress on her face but.....well not really helps. It seems to spike at night. Last night was night 5 with no sleep. ANY HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS she may try? Breaking my heart! Tks

I am so sorry your daughter is having to deal with this, especially during pregnancy. If you do a search there was a young lady recently posting that is pregnant with tn and I'm sure there will be more posts that come up. Not sleeping several nights in a row is devastating to one's psyche...I recently went through that and it wasn't pretty. My pain was so bad at night my pc doc had to give me ambien.

Taking magnesium shortly before bed usually makes me drowsy...not sure if that would help your daughter. It helped me relax and go to sleep but the pain, like your daughter's would keep me up. When my pain is under control it is very helpful.

Has she ever tried acupuncture? There are mixed responses on this but I am a big fan when done with a skilled practitioner. My acupuncturist has helped (not alleviated) my pain, my overall well being and helped me sleep at night without aids. Trying to think outside the box for your daughter and hoping she finds some relief.

Call the doctor - have them call her in lidocaine face patches !!!!!

It can take the edge off for up to 12 hours - miracle for many here

never thought of that!!!!! THANKS
