Cyndy,
I haven’t been prescribed that yet, but I do have an appointment here in a couple of hours with my doc, so ill ask her about it (another question to add to my giant list of questions for her lol). And the VA hospitals are particularly bad about making you feel bad…it seems most doctors there have no compassion at all. And thank you so much for being there for me to talk to you…I thi k its extremely important to get as much support as you can with this condition. I know I get easily frustrated lately, and talking to people that actually understand helps enormously! And I’m still trying to figure out all of my triggers so I can surely avoid them, can’t stand to be in anymore pain!
Ok, good luck with appointment and I hope its a doctor that is knowledgeable. I did the same thing as far as writing a list of questions.
I also knew that until the nerve calmed down I needed a minimum of 1000 mg of Tegretol. The 600 mg prescribed the first time around did nothing so until the nerve calms down ask the doctor. The side effects are brutal until you get use to them but trust me it works...................
Better get back to work
You can always reach me at ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ too
What side effects did you experience? I know you said you have to get back to work, so no rush! Have a good day and ill be on later and tell you what my doctor said. She is quite knowledgeable and she actually LISTENS!!
Yeah Tegretol was the first thing duma prescribed .But I had eagles syndrome still had throat problems after styloid removal Then saw Duma who diagnoised me with glosso I went straight to setting a mvd surgery since my symptoms have been there 13 years Eagles is very hard to get diagnoised with they don't know what causes it or what to do if you still have symptoms after styloid removal that's where I started thinking maybe a compressed glosso nerve would stimulate the bone growth.I just feel crazy at this point but that's probably what it takes to live like this
I’m sorry Deleone, I can’t even begin to imagine the frustration you’re experiencing because of all of this. I truly hope you find relief and an answer to what you are going through. No one should have to suffer constantly. You seem to have a pretty good attitude about things, despite going through it as long as you have. I know its hard to stay optimistic and strong, but its all you can do. That and keep fighting.
Does anyone have a cough with this? I take Neurontin and that works for me. No one can estimate the pain, and the anxiety. You wait for another hit. Thanks.

I think its because, at least for me, having a strange or foreign sensation in my throat, that could make the body want to expel it, hence the incessant coughing.

Have you been checked for Eagles Cassie tron
My friend Natiely showed me this article I just don’t get why we don’t get solid answers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2347329/Father-forced-Google-symptoms-150-GP-appointments-failed-correctly-diagnose-rare-throat-syndrome.html
And how well are the meds working I can’t seem to fine anyone with the cool sensation on the back of tounge throat area like peppermint when you breath in is it every breath thanks Cassi
Hi Deleone,
They are checking me for Eagles syndrome Dec 4th, so we shall see. I’m skeptical though of the VA’s ability to catch it if its there’s though, especially with how hard it is to find. And right now she has me just on Amitriptyline for a week, then she’s adding another med to see how I do on both. And I do have that minty/cold sensation at the back of my tongue, I’d say near the lingual tonsil, and it is constant. Every breath I take I feel it, and it was actually made way worse by my tonsillectomy, that cold sensation intensified by 100% and was accompanied by a horrible burning pain.but now its gone back to the normal minty feeling…driving me nuts! You’re not the only one, which comforts me a little bit and I hope it helps you to know you’re not the only one. Just wanted to ad, when I first watched your video, I actually cried when you were saying what symptoms you had, because I had finally found someone else to relate to. It made me feel a lot better.Hope you’re having a good day! Feel free to contact me whenever.
It does feel good hearing that glad I could help to if you already had a ct done I know a ent out here in Oc who can look at it and tell there is also a oral surgeon out here who cand tell you threw a 160 dollar panoramic X-ray good luck key me know how it goes
I will. And ill keep that in mind if I start having trouble. Thanks!
On last thing make sure they look at your CT on a 3d tomograph image ,If they don’t look at it in that style the styloid will be missed it blends in with every thing else I had it missed on 2 ct even though they were looking for it because they did no look at it that way
I think I actually have that on a disc, my CT in the 3d form, and I watched your videos where you pointed it out, but I’m not sure where to look on that…ill have to do some researching.may have the answer, just have to know how to read it.
I can’t read cat scans either what I’m holding in the video is a panoramic X-ray you gets from dentist or oral surgeons if you had any dental work done lately ask for a copy of your panoramic you will get the same image I’m holding in video
