Gabapentin to Lyrica

My newest Doctor has me moving from using gabapentin to Lyrica. Sounded ok, but I'm having pretty bad head aches every day. She has been tapering down the gabapentin and moving to Lyrica. Has anyone encountered any issues like this? Has anyone found that one of these drugs is better than the other? Thanks!

Call your pharmacist ASAP about headaches side effect…nobody has standard answer on which is better than the other… Very individual. I tried those, finally got relief with Trileptal ,

I hated them all so much…had MVD surgery, with top TN surgeon… No meds no pain year two!.. Learn as much as you can…find your BEST DOCTOR, best treatments for you. Read the book…STRIKING BACK BY DR KEN CASEY…read the posting on this page…

Kc Dancer - thank you. I will call. I've been at this for years. MVD then Gamma Knife, but not the happy ending you had. I've learned from this site that really always had TN2, so for now going the medication route. I just thought maybe throw my issues out there and see if anyone experienced the same thing.

I have the book Striking Back and watched some of the videos Dr. Casey participated in. I agree with you he really is the best or one of the best. I was looking to make an appointment with him, but going to give this new Doctor a try. My problem is not the lack of good Doctors in Houston, but it seems none of them specialize in TN like Dr. Casey. I wish the book Striking Back could be updated. It's a great resource for sure, but it's 10 years old now. Actually with the book this site has been very helpful with giving me updated info, in particular for TN2.

Very happy it all worked out for you. I appreciate your help and see you help others.

MVD studies, since the book, give even higher good outcomes than previously reported. He will consult with you by email! Google him!

Thank you I have his info if it gets to that. I prepared to make plans for Detroit, but going to see how this new Doctor works out. Since I've already had one MVD, Gamma Knife and have TN2 I not so sure that numbers are really that good for me. That being said not ruling out a visit with Dr. Casey. Thank you Kc!
