Flare after dental visit

I have been on pregabalin for 8 years. I have been doing well on it. A few weeks ago I had a dental cleaning. I have atypical facial pain. The gum over a tooth on my left upper side started bleeding. No infection. Now the gum on my right side is inflamed and the pain is on the side of my nose. The dentist gave me a steroid paste to use and thought it could be lichen planus. I will use the plaste for 3 weeks and possibly need a biopsy to confirm when I go back to the dentist. I have been in excruciating pain the last 2 nights on the right upper gum going to the side of my nose. I have not had this much pain even when I was first diagnosed. I’m seeing my neurologist today. Can anyone give me insight to this problem?
