Not sure what this was - but there was a loud noise like thunder and then this object and trail of smoke or cloud streaming behind it, falling out of the sky.
April 6th, 2009. QLD, Australia.
Hazarding a guess as no plane crashes have been reported, must be either a meteorite or space debris?? What do you think??

Could be a plane passing through the sound barrier but the smoke trails look slightly wide in places.

I thought of a plane, but if so, he was travelling awfully fast and going straight down and never pulled up! As I live near an Army base, they actually have posted signs that let us know when they’re going to be making noise in their training exercises so people know “why” they’re hearing explosions and such 
the fixed sign posts just say “low, medium or high”.
Wished they’d done that years ago I remember vividly driving early to work before sunrise one day and as I drove over the mountain, one of their blackhawk helicopters rose up facing me from over the cliff face and other’s below shooting off flares! I nearly drove off the other side of the cliff in sheer fright but it has since always made for a good and funny story!
