Has anyone experienced running as a trigger? I’m training for a marathon and got sidelined after 11 mile run.
I have just been diagnosed with TN - last night, and have started to take meds Carbamazepine and indomethacin. will these eventually take away this horrible pain? I am very frightened by this. I have always been healthy
Thanks for the comments. What I am finding is that when my brain is busy concentrating on something I don’t get the attacks. The minute I relax, BAM! I bowled four games continuously without sitting down. The minute I sat down to take off my shoes it hit me. Even when I’m doing something non-physical like embroidery it doesn’t happen. I was on a 6 hour whale watching tour in the cold wind last weekend and it didn’t happen. I think because my brain was busy balancing me it didn’t have time to fire off a nerve. lol. Now as I sit here typing, I absent mindedly licked my lips and set it off. Go figure.
I am with you Marlene! Being occupied does help - though I am not saying that it is the ultimate answer - because it isn’t. I skied out in sub zero temps all last winter and didn’t have any attacks, but driving along to work and whizz zing fizzle there it was…
I have just started running again (my marathon was 6 years ago - still remember it like yesterday) and hope to be back up to halfers soon.
