I’ve had TN since it started up again this July…I noticed that the week before my period, TN pain increases and my usual dose of anti-seizure medicine doesn’t control the pain. Does anyone else have this? Does anyone else experience monthly pain fluxuations like this?
oops half message is in my request to be your friend. I was told to bump up neurontin a bit during that time. But now at present moment I’m on 2700mgs of neurontin and 1200mg trileptal, so i’m afraid to touch it. In middle of possible alternative choices (i.e surgery…). Hope your doing well.
Many women who have TN or Fibromyealgia report that they appear to have more pain attacks just before or during a menstrual period. Some of the underlying pain mechanisms involved appear to have elements in common with severe PMS, though TN is clearly not “caused by” PMS.
