Desperate...root canals?

Hi,

My ATN started after rc, followed by extraction after months of antibiotics. There seems to be a prejudice against holistic dentistry here, but my experience has been the opposite. After 4 years of pain I am scheduled to have bone cavitation surgery October 1. Every thing about this procedure makes sense to me. Root canals appear to be a predominate theme for TN sufferers. My daughter and I both have had similar experiences. You can’t leave this type of infection in your body and be considered well. Anyone had bone cavitation surgery. Thanks

I suspect my case is more about BAD dentistry and not too much about the rc, as the pain came PRIOR to the rc. I did have a string of horrible dental professionals including the original dentists, the endodontist and the holistic dentist. For the most part, my original post was about a second tooth that happens to be an rc tooth. This tooth was DAMAGED BY the holistic dentist who removed my problematic tooth NEXT to it. I have not had bone cavitation surgery. What is that? Why is it needed? Certainly let us know if it helps your pain.

What is the damage to the other RC tooth, what has the dentist suggested to repair the damaged tooth ?

Any tooth in the mouth that has had work carried out in the past can be susceptible to discomfort during other dental treatment to the surrounding teeth.

My other tooth doesn’t have discomfort.

I will report back here on the bone cavitation surgery. It’s a pretty simple premise and after much thought and research seems so logical. Basically the dentist makes a small incision where there has been an extraction and check the health of the bone. If the bone is unhealthy it will “cave in” and inside will be infection. The area is cleaned out, “bad” bone is removed, healthy bone is nourished with your own blood platelets, closed up and healing begins. It is becoming more and more common in my area. I think it was referred to as quackery here, but I just cannot agree. The theory is that this unhealthy bacteria causes inflammation and pain that can be relieved by the surgery. For me it is worth doing because I have always known that the original root canal was poorly done. I have been “sick” all over since the procedure. This is in addition to the nightmarish ATN?
