Cyberkife with atypical tn

has anyone had success with cyberknife with atypical tn? thanks michelle

Cyberknife can be thought of as a less controlled version of Gamma Knife. It is known to deposit about three times as much radiation as Gamma Knife in the zone immediately adjacent and around the intended target, due to the fact that there is no fixed frame for the radiation gun. If you would like to read the practice standard for Gamma Knife and Cyber Knife, you may send me mail at ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ and I'll send it along. It's copyrighted so I can't post it here on Living with TN.

FYI: Gamma Knife does not appear to have as good a record as MVD in treating Typical TN. Pain recurrence is observed in half of all GK patients within 3 years. Cyberknife isn't as well documented, and neither of them is well documented against Atypical TN. The general trend is toward less than 50/50 success rates in destructive procedures attempted against Atypical TN. However, I'm in the process now of doing a research update on surgical experience with ATN patients. Ping me in a week by private message, if you haven't seen something posted on the site. And remember to use our search window at the top right of each page, to recover three years of experience by over 2,000 pain patients. Suggested targets: "knife" or "cyberknife"

Regards and best,
