i had what felt like sinus pain on one side for months. I finally saw a sinus doctor in July who did a ct scan which did not explain my pain. On 10/31 I saw a neurologist who prescribed carbamazepine. Since then I have had burning on my cheek bone and some tingle in my face. It doesn’t make sense to me that I went months with the same symptoms and now have these.
I would say yes is the answer to your question, it is possible, carbamazapine can lower your sodium levels to the point of side effects. I believe someone has started a thread along the same lines. Have you read the insert? For side effects of meds rxlist.com can be of help. That said it could be just a progression, but that drug can be nasty.
I had MVD in Dec. of 2012 and had no issues really until the last year. It is slowly coming back. Not the intense jabs, but constant pain. I went to a new neuro and she wanted to put me on 1600 mg of carbamazepine…CRAZY…I was on 300 before my surgery and yes I still hurt, but I had to function in a job. Talking seems to be my main trigger now and I am a teacher. The 2 do not mix. Anyone know of another drug that helps them more ? My surgeon suggested Gamma Knife, but after reading results, I am not sold on this either. THanks
My question is, have you tried charlotte’s web cbd (which has no thc), an derivative of marijuana?
https://www.cwhemp.com/
No, I am not promoting this. Since carbamazepine is a anti-seizure drug with harmful affects, this charlotte’s web cbd has been proven to help children, adults with seizures.
I never have tried this, so.
cnn.com Dr. Sanjay Gupta did a whole documentary on this last summer, https://youtu.be/Z3IMfIQ_K6U.
And yes the Doctor has prescribed me this carbamazepine, which worries me about the side affects!
