Hi Everyone
I was reading about AD. I’m wondering if I have that as well as TN1 and 2. My MVD didn’t go well. Several permanent and quality of life reducing side effects (didn’t think my quality of life could get any worse til now) from the surgery as well as very limited to no success for the ATN. Struggling with constant pain in my teeth, but numbness as well on the left side of my face. Now some intermittent jaw aching. Can’t take the meds. Tried them all. Side effects are extremely limiting. GKS as well. helped with the constant eye tearing, and the horrible itching is more intermitant, but that wasn’t my biggest concerns. Not sure which path to take next. there has got to be relief out there…somewhere. I am hoping that hope springs eternal.
Take care

Carol, I could not find your letter that came to me in an email. so I will just reply to you from this one.
I too am having the issues as you. Teeht, chewing, pain… I started seeing a holistic chiroprator that adjusts my jaw. This last time, I had not needed an adjustment for sometime now and thank God because I did not have the money.
The reason I had to go this last time is because I got a hankering for some potato chips. I ravished them. You see I have to be on soft foods because chewing hard things creates pain and shocking, as does talking. I have developed a method for cooking my food that is still has the vitamins and I always take small bites and eat slowly. Which is what we are supposed to do anyway. I have no bottom teeth on the left side and one molar on the right side. but clenching my teeth does not help so I am always focusing on that. Pulling out teeth helps some but it moves on the the next one. I take
Oxcarbezepine three times a day and tylenol 3 times a day. I also take lorazapam .5 mg to keep me calm. I don’t drink caffiene (well once in a while)
I use a tooth pain numbing gel and rum it on the inside of my jaw and the gums on the left side when it gets bad. I had neurosurgery on the 5th crainiel nerve because of a schwanoma that was on it and the y fond a vein was wrapped around it. so the surgeon unwrapped the vein packed and wrapped the nerve with a synthetic teflon and put stents to keep the vein guided. I had no relief for away but he said it would take a year to 19 months. And it has but other things stimulate that nerve like, hearing aid, rising too fast bending over. So every day to day unconscious movements I have to make conscious.I find getting stressed out causes it. blood pressure goes up and the vein by the nerve set it off. doing therapy on your jaw helps, message. So good luck.
Robin
Did you write your book? I never heard of AD. I just looked it up. It sounds horrendous. I hope you’re ok.
