Age Is No Issue

One of the things I found so surprising on this site is the wide variety of age. TN shows no discrimination. Men, women, young, old. My syptoms first showed when I was 36. We didn't know at the time it was TN.

When I finally got the diagnosis, I read it (TN) was an over 60 attacker. I don't see too many of us around here over 60. Unless we have one hell of an anti-age cream going around, but I have not discussed my beauty secrets...LOL

Sad to see so many here. Even sadder (a word?) to see how young we are. At a time when we should be enjoying our life, we are just trying to make it through the day.

I think the CDC needs to re-evaluate the discriptions of TN.

(I would spell check but its been a long day.)

I agree with you. I first had TN nearly 2 years ago when i was 23.

Just glad my meds are working at the moment but it's still what i think of each day. Dont know how i'll cope if meds stop working. Hoping i can have some kind of a good life but seems so sad to think we're all just trying to get through the day.

Bobbie, it is so sad to see so many young people with TN. I really don't know how you all cope. When I think about how challenging it was raising children and working, even with good health, then how people do it through such pain is beyond me.

I was "lucky" in that it hit me after retirement so I can take it easy if I need to. However one of my daughters tells me that she always knew from my face when I was in pain and by the fact that I could be irritable and short-tempered [and there was I thinking I was stoical]. RESPECT to all you younger ones trying to juggle your lives.

There is no age bracket for onset of Atypicals, and we make up a large portion of the people in this group.

Thank you Stef for clearing that up. Its still sad. Too many too young.

Pat, I appriciate where you are now. I so suffer no more than you do. I am glad for your wisdom and support.

Una, 23. Wow, I hope you can find a med therapy or surgical solution. Hugs to you.

Shelley, I know how it wears us down. If you ever feel like you need to vent, I am here. You just shout out. I get the messages from this site on my phone.

When I first started researching about TN on the internet, most articles said it affects mostly people over 50.. I really don't see that here! My TN appeared shortly before my 27th birthday, about 6 months ago.
