Hi everyone, I’m a newbie on here 
Tomorrow will be 3 wks since my operation for GPN. I had the 9th nerve cut & part of 10th & I think they did a bit of decompression of something too. I’m doing pretty well with recovery. Just wondering if anyone has had the surgery & how they got on. I’m a little worried though as I’m having some ear pain & wondered if it is normal part of recovery. I don’t think it is the same as the stabbing shooting hot skewer type of GPN pain from before, but it is pain deep inside my ear. The surgeon said it is all part of the healing process. I suppose I’m just a little worried that maybe it wasn’t just GPN I had maybe a combination of other nerve probs too & I don’t want to go through the surgery again. If anyone has any experience please I’d love you to share. Thank you.
Hi Kimmy! I am 7 weeks post-op. I dont have any pain. They said some people do though. Did you have GPN and geniculate neuralgia? Did they cut the nervous intermedius? I did a post on my surgery if you want to read it. I hope the pain goes away for you.
Hi, I had my 2nd GN block yesterday to start desensatizing the nerve. Yes, my left ear is killing me. After the injection the tickleing was horrible so I put numbing drops I had from an inner ear infection. At 1:44am this morning it woke me up & I've been miserable all day, Swallowing is a big problem right now. I go for a follow-up tomorrow. Did you have the injections prior to doing the actual surgery? Hope you feel better in time and keep me posted. Thank you.
Hi Kimmy, did you have the nerve blocks to desensatize the nerve first before having surgery? What types of problems were you having? Hope you are feeling better and please keep me posted...Thank you.
