Want to pull my teeth

just two on the bottom withbig old fillings …whats the harm?

The fifth craninal nerve is the nerve that goes to the teeghThe harm can come in that in the process of pulling the teeth, the nerve can be damaged. If they do not need to be pulled I would suggest you leave them alone.

I have always notified new dentists of my TN and they either go "OHHHH...." and long pause, then suggest not having any work done on my top right side (the side that is always affected) or they have said, well, I cannot do any work on you with out a thorough exam, xrays, a waiver from you and your neuro doctor first. My TN is thought to have started from damage to my Trigeminal nerve after major dental work, anyways, since they have done MRI's and CT scans looking for lesions on my brain (looking for signs of M.S.). My mother was thought to have Lupus for years, then her doctors said they weren't sure, it could have been some neurolgical or autoimmune diesease... they never figured out before she died of a heart attack at age 54. SO.... we aren't totally sure what caused the start of my TN, I am just glad I only get 1-2 attacks per year.... that's 1-2 too many if you ask me, and my husband, poor guy... he is so helpless, I feel bad for him (while I am having the pain...lol) he paces while I am screaming and kicking my legs into the walls, to divert the pain. :( OK, time to shut up for now. OH, by the way, don't have teeth pulled unless you have a definate diagnosis of a tooth problem. I had 3 teeth removed PRIOR to my diagnosis of TN for NO REASON AT ALL.... nice.
