I went to my primary care doctor, for a follow-up after a ER visit due to TN, and Migraine pain. She looked in my ears, and up my nose, and said I have very swollen sinuses. So, bad in fact, I have fluid, and dead cell build up in my left inner ear, and it is just a matter of time before I get a inner ear infection. There may be a chance that once the inner ear problems are dealt with, it could re...duce my TN pain ever further, as there will be no internal pressure on the nerve. I go to see the ENT in 3 weeks. In the mean time I have a couple of things my primary care doc prescribed. There is a part of me that is excited to think dealing with the sinus problems could reduce my pain ever further, but there is another side of me that is afraid to hope, and have it smashed.
I have had sinus problems my entire life. Thing is I have a history of both Type One TN, and Neuropathic TN as well. My primary care doctor is concerned about scaring in my sinuses, and referred me, at my request to the ENT. Having heard how many people have ended up with TN due to sinus surgery, I am scared to death to have anything done, but I can not risk inner ear infections due to constant fluid, and dead cell build up in my left inner ear.
I am not sure what to do. Nasal Steroids have not worked. I could eat decongestants like candy, and they only work for a short time.
