Please help if you can prevent relapse

Hi Dodo, its really scary when you feel the pain starting to wind up again, but you aren't your TN, and your not your fear either. When I got scared people always used to tell me stop being a princess and get over it. But then someone told me its ok to be afraid, its a rational response, but you are not your fear. don't fight your fear, look at it objectively and accept it. Fear is a really healthy response If you let yourself become immersed in the fear, you'll up your stress levels and make an onset more imminent. Instead, observe it, accept it and move on to the next step, developing your management plan. If we're faced with natural disasters, we plan - what triggers are and what our response to these might be. One of mine is stress, so when I start to get stressed,(trigger) I make a choice (my action) - is this more important than another attack? To be honest- apart from my dentist trip, Nothing over the past twelve months has come in as a yes. So - I choose to live my life with less stress. If crying is one of your triggers, then find another way of expressing your emotions, don't try to contain them - step back a little way from them, observe your feelings like you're on the outside looking in at them (still feeling them, but not immersed in them), maybe write them down as though you're recording them for someone else. Then look at how you might help that person if they came to you in need of help. Become your own best friend. Depression with TN isn't unexpected, seek help and remember, it isn't who you are and there are always options out there to explore.. one step at a time :)

I made some rice bags and heat them in the microwave and hold them to my face. That seems to help some. It just kind of relaxes everything. You might try that.

According to my neurologist I am not a candidate for surgery
