HaHaHa.....we are quite the mess!! Ah but a FINE mess indeed!! Thanks to Kc we realized that we still have a sense of humor.
You know your a TN patient....
....when you tell your adult daughter that you want to get a part time job, and she bursts out laughing.
....when your adult son always knows when you've upped your meds and he laughs.
....when your always wondering where the heck the time went.
....when you hurt from "overdoing" it and realize that all you did all day was walk the dog, cook a meal, and do dishes.
....when you rush to close all windows because it got windy outside.
....when you have to go without getting your mail because it snowed.
Ah...we do what we can to get by!
My daughter shoveled my walk and there was lots of ice to chip at, then it snowed that night but thankfully it was not too cold and I was able to shovel the fluffy stuff. I should be getting a stack of mail today!

Kc, Great idea! After reading all of these it made me realize how much we do have in common when it comes to tn.We are individuals, live different lives, come from all parts of the world, but we can come here to connect. We come here for support for ourselves,to help support others, for research. To cry together and to laugh together. So glad you started this, I need to laugh right now. Hope this doesn't stop here. I'm pretty sure we haven't heard them all yet. Kc, how did YOU miss this one? (LOL) You must be a tn patient....if you answer the door with lidocaine patches cut in peices stuck all over your face, (LOL) with your rice bag wrapped around your head and face and your hoodie on, oh! forgot to mention the sun was shining so grabbed sun glasses, to open the door to someone I had never seen before (lol) talk about blabbering (lol) You must be a tn patient.... when you leave the ER after getting a pain shot after weeks of not being able to shower, brush teeth, etc. I forgot I had on ho, ho, ho, pj's it was Aug. and 90 plus degrees out. My little blanket to throw over my head. I decide to stop at the grocery store (out of everything) I know I looked a hot mess! My uncle took me and confirmed it.(lol) I didn't want to wait till the pain meds wore off.I also took a shower as soon as I got home! You must be a tn patient....if you wait for a close to perfect night put on all your head gear and mow the grass after dark. Waiting to here more.Wishing everyone a blessed and painless day! Dawn
I don't even both color coordinating. My earband is greyish, my neck gaiter/buff is purple or I also have a green/black one and I can guarantee those do not match most of what I wear. Makes for some interesting looks at times, like when it's 40, but windy, but can be a lifesaver for sure!
So funny, that was me today walking the dog in Melbourne, cloudy, warm but windy.. Had sunnies on, head wrapped up in a scarf and everyone wondering who the mad lady with the dog was.. At least with the gear on, they don't recognise me. Everyone knows my dog Lucy though :)
This is still so funny, I have just reread all! You must be a tn patient if, you had to check to see if you spelt (this) right. Oh my goodness! (lol), you make your grandson go outside to put his deodorant on, and he just does it without guestion! You ask him to read a post, and he says, "I already know what it says, remember I 've been here 15 yrs." He probably has read LOTS and MANY more than once because (WOOPS I FORGET!) DON'T YA ALL JUST LOVE THIS! THANKS AGAIN KC, KEEP IT GOING EVERYONE! IT HAS MADE MY MORNING ONE MORE TIME! (HUGS), Dawn

I sewed a face mask - head band - neck guard from 1970s psychedelic fabric as its the perfect lightweight breathable fabric, glued it to sunglasses and sewed it to a big hat to work out in the fields (I grow vegetables and grapes) I was out there the other day with a matching 1970s floral outfit to match and floral gumboots chipping weeds from 5 acres, someone stopped to ask why I was wearing the headress - I said "To hide my excitement"!
You must be a TN Patient if your friends automatically point to the new dint in your car and say "TEGRETOL??"
You must be a TN Patient if your friends correct your stupidity with "Oh don't worry about her, she's tegretolled up to the eyeballs" Like its an exclusive designer drug.
You must be a TN Patient if you name your heat bag! (mines Binky)
You must be a TN Patient if you have thrown a car deodoriser out of someone elses moving car
You must be a TN Patient if you blame the dinner being burnt on Tegretol
AND
You must be a TN Patient if you find new ways to explain it to people Like..
Imagine 12 elephants in labour sitting on your face, then times that by 1000
This is absolutely brilliant - can't stop laughing.
However:
You must be a TN patient when you laugh and you have to do it with your mouth closed and just make little sounds as it hurts to smile let along laugh - lol
You must be a TN patient when you buy a ski mask and you end up looking like your going to rob a bank.
You must be a TN patient when you go to see your GP and he know you so well by now that he understands what you want to say as you can't say it because you've lost your speech because of the medications...(that's happened a few times and my GP just says 'I understand'.
You must be a TN patient because the drugs make you so high that you cry because the coffee shop doesn't have the flavour of coffee that you want and you simply cannot think of any other coffee that you want because your brain is so fuddled.
You must be a TN patient when someone walks past you and you can feel the draft that they made when going past you and your in pain again...(that happens quite a lot - lol).
You must be a TN patient when your on medication that makes you think that your well and you see that the sun is shining and you think 'Hey I'm cured' and go out for 30 minutes and then your in agony for the rest of the day and have to wear your scarf in the house and you realise that you really are not 'cured'. Don't know why I did this one - I think it was because I was avoiding going so the pain was slightly reduced and I thought I can handle this...and then realised NO I really can't - LOL.
You must be a TN patient when you put masking tape around your windows so that there is no draft coming in.
You know you are a TN patient if when you go to get your new glasses you are more concerned about the type of ear piece than you are about how they look.
When you are talking to your neuro and stop cold because your brain stops cold! And the thought is gone until you get home.
You ask for Oragel PM in your stocking at Christmas. (I got three)
When you microwave your lighter instead of your rice bag. yep, did that. Yep, quit smoking!
When you try to make soft scrambled eggs with one hand while holding your puke bowl with the other.
You must be patient & a TN patient if your oppressive, life altering symptoms, starts with an explanation, in a simple sentence, that falls flat, like " I get this face pain".

So true! I remember saying that one day and the guy said back to me, Oh yeah, sleep apnea, my girlfriend gets that.

You walk around the house with an ice bag strapped to your head. Oh, and you sleep with it too.
You are constantly being told, "You look terrible. You must have a headache AGAIN!"
Your fragrance of choice is Doterra Pastense essential oil because you put in on your forehead 5x a day.
You tell your husband the same story about 10 times.
You have the Pain Clinic on speed dial.
You check this site every day in hopes of finding a permanent solution to your pain. You also cry a little when reading about so many who suffer as you do.
You are grateful for the "good days" when you can skip Percocet and you rely solely on 6 Tramadol.
OMG these are hysterical and they all apply. Damn you all for making me smile.
You must be an ATN patient
if you damn people for making you smile
if you call your boyfriend names to try to get him to hit your face with a frying pan
you cringe on the inside because some one comments that they had pain from a root canal once
you describe your friend as “the girl I have eaten lunch with everyday for the last 7 years” because you have no recollection of her name
you pace up and down the street in your fuzzy pjs in the middle of the night, groaning, looking like a maniac and hoping your neighbors will not call the cops
