Yesterday marked 2 weeks from my surgery. I spent the day on the sofa with another headache and stomach upset. The headaches are much better but still bother me, some days more than others. I have reduced my Neurontin by half and am now at 900 mg per day. I am constantly waiting for a twinge of pain that does not come. I do feel a little tooth pain but it is more like a flash and never reaches a 1 on the pain scale. My incision does not bother me except for the hair sprouting in all dirctions. My body seems to be worn out and I am very, very tired. I have had many surgeries and know this is normal. My only wish is that I could believe the worst is over and I will never have to endure the TN pain again.
Tomorrow marks 3 weeks from my surgery and the headaches are finally gone. Today I had a follow-up with a hearing specialist and when my hearing was retested, it was almost back to pre-surgery levels. My Neourontin dose is down to 600 mg per day and I am more alert. It feels good to be able to think more clearly. Life is good.
I had those vibrating leg wraps too! Loved them!

Best of luck to you with surgery. I had my mvd on October 3rd and am 90% pain free which is exactly the result the neurosurgeon expected. My pain scale now is 2 on a scale of 1-10 and only occasional. I had almost 90% ATN symptoms and it is possible that my nerves are still healing and I will have 100% results.
You will be amazed how easy the surgery actually is. I am surprised though they have you doing exercise, I had these tubes on my legs that inflated and deflated to prevent clots, I actually found them relaxing and would love to have a pair at home since I have restless leg syndrome now from the Tegretol.
I wish you the best
Wendy
You are doing so well--great! Yes, life is good for us. Thanks for the update.

Post MVD question for others who have had the surgery. My recovery is going well and I am down to 300 mg per day of Neurontin. Usually only once a day, I have a period of time when I feel as though I cannot keep my eyes open. It lasts for about 1/2 hour and then I am okay whether I slept or not. Did this happen to anyone else?
No, I never experienced anything exactly like that. I forced myself to nap every afternoon for 1/2 hour to 1 hour for about 4 weeks postop, knowing my body would benefit from the rest. Do you get really sleepy @ the same time every day? Can you associate it with when you take the Neurontin?
Hi Dixie, I have not taken a nap since week 2 post op. I think that is my problem. I am doing more and resting less and then my head says “enough”. I will try the nap today.
Take care & have a good day.
