No they are not treating the brain inflammation at this time. When he had the meningitis and was in the hospital, they treated him with Prednisone. They are telling him to wait. He is going to see the pain doctor next week. His hands, feet, knees and nipples are swollen. I called the Pharmacy for him and they seem to think it is the Nortriptline.
I am a spouse and I feel for all of you who have this terrible condition. But truthfully, my marriage is over, my husband has totally changed and I understand the pain, and as you can see I love him enough to help him and research for him. But the man is stubborn as a mule. The swelling has been for a while now, you would think he would go to a doctor.
I know it's hard for you.I don't know how my wife put up with me so long. It's hard to work on a relationship when you are truly suffering in pain.Hopefully he will have some remission soon and be able to express his love and appreciation for you.

Hello Fran, I have GPN and have a great pain dr in NYC that I use. He specializes in TN and GPN. His name is Dr James Dillard address is 161 Madison Ave Phone #212-■■■■■■■■ I hope he can help your husband. I went for a consult with DR Babu last month. I decided to hold off on my surgery. Dr Dillard is very understanding when your in pain. He listens closely and is very careing.
Hi Fran, Would you please inbox me about Dr Babu. I told you I postponed my surgery from him. I would really appreciate it. or you could email me at ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Thank-you so much!!
I had an MVD at the Mayo Clinic with Dr. Pollack. It was a failed procedure. Then Dr. Pollack suggested Gamma Knife. Again, no help at all.
Pollack was ready to write me off...offered me surgery to sever the nerve! Um, no thank you!
Thankfully, I am now with Dr. Ken Casey in Michigan. (The author of THE great TN book, Striking Back.)
I just had my revision MVD with him in November. Wow! I am completely pain free for the first time in six years. I can hardly believe it.
Dr. Casey is VERY thorough. He used SO much more teflon in this surgery.
Dr. Casey still works closely with Dr. Janetta, the doctor who developed the MVD surgery. If there is a good TN doctor performing an MVD, they were trained by Drs. Janetta and Casey.
Fran Your husband has been so unfortunate with the outcome of his MVD but he is mighty lucky to have you fighting his corner. Thank you to all you partners xxx
