Ash and Mimi--- I take it for BOTH!! LOL I started taking Effexor for depression and we noticed it worked for my pain. ( Well one of my pains) I got lucky. :)
Wait, anti-depressants can work for the pain? I'm so sensitive to the side effects of the anti-epileptics that I'm starting Tegretol, 100mg at a time - adding 100mg every 4-7 days. This is going to take forever!
Yes, the anti depressants in the tricyclic class particularly are known for their help in treating type 2 pain. You could ask your doctor about them. :D ( Nortriptyline and amitriptyline)
