I don't remember having any incisional pain, just the rash itching from ointment I was allergic to. Felt some numbness around the incision, but that is normal with any surgery, nerves on the skin itself are cut and some rewire/reconect and others don't, for awhile if I scratched my lower ear , I would feel it at the tip of my ear. I had some mild ear issues of clogged feeling or muffled or a sound in my ear, now 3 years later I find that ear highly sensitive to sound. But I had the most horrible all-over headache for about a week after surgery, I thought my head would explode. I'm thinking it is from the halo holding my head in place partially. The milder pain that was affected by cold, breeze etc was still there as winter came. And now 3 years later TN has returned full force with needles being shot into my eardrum and in front of my ear. Everybody's story is different, but hopefully you can pull out the information and support you need, as we all do. feel better and make yorself take it easy.. k
Tomorrow will be one week for me and am having the headaches that I too believe are from the halo. I have a pulsing noise in my left ear which is rather strange since my surgery was on the right. My doctor put wax in my right ear canal to prevent a CSF. Do you think that each doctor does different things and wouldn’t it be nice if we knew what they were?!
Hope you are feeling better everyday. I am one month in and am feeling alot better this week. Positive thoughts for you. Hope your pain lessens everyday. Keep us all updated. Linda
Hi I had MVD 11-30-11 I had two veins around nerve and artillery against nerve. I have no feeling in right side of face and ear is only 60 % but I have no Pain. My doctor told me things would get better as nerves healed themselves. Just think postive and take it a day at a time. Please don't try to over do it.
Mine was done 7 weeks ago & the numbness will subside. Starting to feel less & my NS said could take 5 months so be patient.
Msuclemay, How are you feeling?
