Dixie- you have been on my mind. Wanted to let you know that you have been in my prayers and I wanted to wish you the very best in your surgery this week. May God wrap his loving arms around you and guide your surgeon every step of the way this week. I hope you will keep me posted and let me know how everything goes this week. God Bless you and Keep you well. Most of all I will be praying for a 100% successful surgery and that you come out of it pain free!

Christine, You are so thoughtful to send me your sincere and meaningful message. When I went to church yesterday, my pastor prayed with me. I have a strong faith in God and so does my surgeon. I will have two very supportive friends(my domestic partner and an R.N. I worked with for years) with me staying in a nearby hotel that has shuttle service to & from the hospital. I have no doubt that all will go perfectly.
If you do not hear from me, remember that I may be a little fuzzy after the surgery. So why don't you send me a message & that will remind me to write to you. Would you do that, please?

You have given me inspiration to get ahead of this all. I have an appointment with my neurologist this week and an appointment with a surgeon out of IU Health in early November. I want to have my next steps lined up if and when this medication ceases to block the pain.
I will send you a message, no doubt. I will be on the edge of my chair all week. God Bless!

You have a good plan. Get steps lined up now that you have a clear mind and can make the proper arrangements. You never know when the pain and medication, which may need to be increased eventually, will affect your thought process. When do you see the neurologist?

tomorrow....but I don't expect much from him. When I left his office the first time his parting words were "well lets hope this was a one time thing" Really and Truly they need to prepare patients for best and worst scenarios. Have yourself a bunch of great meals between now and your surgery!!!
If your neurologist said, "let's hope this was a one time thing", I'm concerned that he doesn't know much about TN! Ask him how many patients he has or is treating for TN. Christine, you need to get the BEST management available--this is your health and LIFE. Get to a big center that deals with this and knows the best treatment for you. Please be careful in your decision making. I'm worried about you, my friend.
You told me to have a bunch of great meals before surgery--ha, ha. I have gained 8 lbs. in the past 6 months and none of my clothes fit me. The Lyrica has increased my appetite, I am eating too much, and this has got to stop. Really, I am looking forward to weaning off the Lyrica and losing the weight--I don't want to throw away my favorite clothes. Ha, ha, ha.--yes, I can laugh about it. I know in a few months, I will be more active & won't need to take a nap every afternoon. I drink coffee and Moutain Dew (diet) to stay alert during the day. Right now I must sign off, get myself together and go into town for a few things--it is only a 10 mile drive. I will check for your reply on my I Phone that I will have with me--call if you want-305 393 3047.
