Facial surgery after a TN diagnosis - anyone have thoughts or advice? Bad idea? And does anyone have experience with having facial surgery with TN?

I have TN type 2 and I'm scheduled for lower jaw (orthognathic) surgery to fix my bite. Now that surgery is close, I'm having second, (and third, fourth, fifth) thoughts. I'm thinking it's more and more of a bad idea with the TN and I'm ready to back out. I'm not sure if the risk of possibly even more nerve damage is really worth the reward of an optimal bite.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated : )

Hi. I know this was so long ago but did you have your facial surgery? I’m thinking about doing the same thing because I heard it helps TN.
