I seem to be fine with 800 Mg of Tegretol and 600 Mg of Gabapentin daily. Washing my face or rubbing my head on the left side reminds me that that pain is still there. I will be having an MRI this week as a lead up to a possible second MVD. Even though the meds keep the pain away, I don't want to live a life medicated. My first MVD was done in Winnipeg, Manitoba the next one will likely be in Vancouver, British Columbia. I'm hoping second time is a charm.
I would love to hear from anyone who has had a second MVD.

Do you mind me asking why your first surgery was unsuccessful with Dr. Kaufman (I presume)? I live in B.C. and if I were to have MVD I was thinking of Dr. Kaufman in Winnipeg. I too am on 800 mg of Tegritol and feel that I am too young to feel like this for another 30-50 years. Let us know how things go. Best wishes.
